Dear Biden,
I was optimistic that you would keep your promise of working to unite our beleaguered nation. If that was an honest intention, I hope you will stand up against bully-partisanship and veto HR1 in its present form.
Passage of HR1 is most distressing to me for multiple reasons. First being the process of haste and suppression of deliberation. Second being its prohibition of removing eligible voters from voter rolls. Third being its unconstitutional grab removing from states authority granted to them specifically by the Constitution. Fourth - the SIZE. Financial numbers become abstract - but $1 trillion one-dollar bills stacked on top of each other would reach to the International Space station and an additional distance beyond.
Never has a bill created more hard feelings for me, a very moderate, middle-class pacifist. It's passage pushes me to feel as if there is some kind of a war going on within our politics and manuevers are being made that will benefit only the class with power (primarily elected officials.)
